EMBER TRACKR TIME MANAGEMENT APP

The EMBER TRACKR is an innovative time management app developed in-house, designed to streamline how we track and manage our time effectively. The motivation behind creating this app stems from our desire to enhance productivity and organisation, ensuring that both individuals and teams can work efficiently. To achieve this, we set several requirements that would guide the app's development.

FEATURES

Among its key features, the app lets us easily add projects and assignments. It automatically creates a new time entry when you start working on an assignment, allowing us to track our time management for each project and/or assignment.

One notable functionality is the automatic invoice generation, which simplifies the billing process for clients. Additionally, EMBER TRACKR supports team-based project management, promoting collaboration and communication among team members. We wanted the app to offer a user-friendly interface made for effortless time tracking and help us manage our client's projects more efficiently.

Building the app's interface, we wanted to try something we hadn't used before but heard great things about, which was Flet. It fitted perfectly into our workflow philosophy, and due to our experience working with Python, the barrier to entry was relatively low. In a short amount of time, we had a version up and running that we could iterate on. Besides some limitations on specific design elements, it had everything we wanted, and we highly recommend checking it out if you ever want to create an app using Python.

For the app's backend, we have integrated Pocketbase as our preferred backend. It allows us to manage data seamlessly and provides a robust environment for our app's operations. We chose Pocketbase for its ease of use and efficiency, making it an ideal fit for our needs.
